Chapter Eighty Four

It had been days since Carlton left on the short trip that he had gone on with James, and Stacy had been trying to maintain her sanity even if it was so hard to do that. She had not been able to reach him ever since he left, through calls, text messages, or even emails, and it was hard to hide the rising tide of panic that threatened to engulf her.

Desperate to hide that she was fine, she forced a bright smile whenever she was with her patients, while trying to hide the fact that she had been overthinking a lot about what was going on. Though she landed two nice paying gigs which she finished in two days to keep her busy, she could not be happy, considering how things had fallen apart for her too.

“Are you fine, Stace?” Fiona, who was a new doctor that was assigned to work with her, asked, her voice frail and thin in its usual way.
