Chapter One hundred and Eight

“Miss Nadia. Can you hear me?” Doctor Betty came around after a nurse had informed her that Nadia had stirred after two days of being deeply unconscious.

She pointed a flashlight to her dilated eyes to check if she was truly conscious, and then moved to check vital parts in her body to see if there was a reason why Nadia was not answering the question she had been asking. She just lay there with her eyes open. Dormant

Disoriented with her mind in a haze that blurred against the wall of her consciousness, Nadia's eyes were fixated on the person who was talking to her, unable to give her an answer to whatever she wanted to know.

Even if her eyes and body were slightly stiff, and it felt like her entire body was on fire, she knew she could move her lips if she wanted to. However, she couldn't.

The deadly scent of the man who almost sent her on a journey of no return was somewhere around. Near her. Lurking around her.
