FOUR YEARS LATER
CaliforniaWILLAND HospitalThrough the bustling atmosphere which was filled with a sense of anticipation that mingled with the comforting presence of healing and hope, a lady stepped her way into the huge, top-rated hospital of the city with grace and sophistication.Though swelling inwardly with great excitement and anticipation, she looked professional with a perfect radiant face, as she exchanged a few conversations with the nurses at the front desk, and was shortly directed to where she was going. She had just been appointed as the newest addition to the hospital's physiotherapy medical staff, and she had a lot of thoughts going on in her mind about what the new hospital held for her. It was the biggest and grand opportunity to fully expand her career."Welcome onboard, Miss Hall. It is a pleasure to meet you," the Musculoskeletal department head of physiotherapy, Mr. Brown welcomed her. He was a man in his late forties, wearing thick double-lens glasses that framed his small face. His deeply brown eyes seemed to have a lot of story to tell as they rolled uncontrollably."It is an honor to meet you, too," Stacy smiled modestly, making sure to not lose her charisma before him."Here are all the necessary documents that need to be signed for a final check-in for you as our doctor here, and these contain the other information that you might need to know about this hospital too. Department-specific protocols, workflows, expectations. The list is endless. Go over them," he stretched forth a big folder of files to her, and she took it without hesitation."Thank you, doctor.""I would call one of the doctors to introduce you to the others too. Get familiarized with them, and figure out how things work here. Your job begins fully next week," he informed her lazily, and picked up the table phone on his desk to dial a number."I would appreciate that," Stacy responded politely."Your tour guide, Nadia Baker, is on the way. She will show you around," Mr, Brown added without meeting her eyes, and picked up his cup of coffee to enjoy his personal time which she had initially disrupted upon her entering."Thank you once again," she bowed respectfully and stood up to leave his sight immediately. The moment she opened the door and walked out of the room to the hallway, a beautiful lady was standing in front waiting for her."Hi, I am Nadia Baker. And you are Stacy Hall?" The pretty lady who approached her with a calm demeanor asked, as she flashed a warm smile at her.Stacy's eyes flashed briefly to where her name was embroidered on her white coat, and she liked the appearance of the lady who was standing before her. Everything about her was so simple but exquisite."Yes, I am. Nice to meet you too, Nadia," She stretched her hand to take her handshake."Welcome, Dr. Hall. I am thrilled to have you here, and I am excited to be your tour guide," Nadia grinned excitedly."Thank you so much," Stacy responded delightfully."You are so beautiful, Stacy," Nadia complimented honestly as she took a glance at the stunning lady who was standing before her. Every aspect of her appearance exuded a sense of luxury and refinement, as if she had stepped out of a dream of wealth and glamor. For a young doctor, she exuded a regal aura."Thank you. You look so great yourself. Your smile is so charming," Stacy returned the compliment truthfully. She liked Nadia's personality already. They both walked together through the maze of hallways that was bustling with patients, nurses, and doctors in white coats, as Nadia gave a brief explanation of the function of every hallway, room, elevator, and any infrastructure that came their way. She finally led Stacy to the doctor's office, where several other doctors were gathered, and engaged in conversations while having a brief lunch together before the next ward call. They didn't notice when the door opened or when the two entered, but there was a noticeable change in the atmosphere."Hi, Everyone. Meet our new doctor, Stacy Hall," Nadia's voice traveled across the huge room and rebounded so fast, causing everyone to turn in unison at the same time towards their direction. They all stopped their conversation immediately.'Stacy. You are strong. You can do it,' she told herself inwardly."Hi, everyone. I am Stacy Hall, and it is nice to meet you. I hope we can get to know each other more and I cannot wait to learn more from you all," she greeted eloquently in the same way she had practiced over and over again. They were momentarily stunned. The lady standing beside Nadia as they both entered was the epitome of elegance and opulence, and she possessed a natural allure that captivated the sight of everyone with her appearance. Coupled with her great appearance, it was not hard to tell that everything she wore was of great luxury. She effortlessly exuded an air of sophistication and grace.Dr. Smith, the youngest male doctor, extended his hand, "Pleasure to meet you, Dr. Hall. I am Denver, the youngest male doctor. Welcome to our team.""Welcome, Dr. Hall. I am Stephen, and I have heard great things about your great skills. I look forward to collaborating and learning from you," An older and friendly doctor chimed in.Stacy smiled, feeling a surge of confidence already, "Thank you, Dr. Guzman. I am so delighted to see you," she flashed a warm smile. The warmth among her new name colleagues reassured her that she had made the right choice of joining the hospital. However, instead of the usual welcoming smiles and nods of acknowledgment she expected from the females, there was some kind of undeniable strong tension that hung in the air with the manner in which they greeted her. **…••...** .<•>. **...••...**"I don't think they like me very much," Stacy mentioned as she and Nadia stepped outside."Them? No, they are just awkward. Dr. Smith literally grinned from ear to ear till you left," Nadia disputed her imagination."I meant the females," she specified."Oh, they? They have never liked me, ever since I came here about three months ago too. They are all like that. Cold and impassive," she explained."Are you sure? I felt something stronger than just natural dislike for a new junior," Stacy stated again, as she tried to think of how palpable the intense energy she felt from them was."If it is like that. Then it should be expected," Nadia reasoned."Why is that?" Stacy asked cluelessly as they entered the elevator together the moment the doors slid open."They have talked about you before you came, you know. We all know you already, even if we haven't met you. Stacy Hall. Twenty-eight. The youngest and smartest doctor in her set, who managed to start again after studying anatomy, and finished her degrees with perfect scores. Skilled and intelligent. Aced all the theories and practicals. Landed her second job in the most sought-after hospital in California, after becoming a star doctor in barely four months at her first hospital. Then she comes looking gorgeous, beautiful, and so luxurious like a little miss. Of course, they are intimidated!" Nadia's lips twisted into a smirk as she spoke in admiration of Stacy."Oh my! Really? I didn't mean to make an appearance in that……..""You didn't even need to get on their bad side at all. They automatically hate you, so you do not need to bother. They still do not believe that I didn't sleep my way to the top because it is so hard to get a job here, when it is for a fact that my mother slept days in front of my uncle's house and pressured him to find me the best job. It sucks already though. They treat my qualifications as lower, and make me do stupid jobs," Nadia lamented with a slight frown."So they will think the same of me too?" Stacy asked incredulously, finding it hard to believe that she was already on the bad radar of people she had not even met before."Certainly! So, brace yourself my darling," Nadia smiled at her as they came out of the elevator on the first floor, "We have a lot of convincing to do," she added.Stacy's mind rummaged through the summary of what Nadia had just told her as they took another elevator to the hospital restaurant, and she felt more passionate than ever to make her life different at the hospital. She had studied endlessly for years and started a new path in her life, with the hope that she would be free from negativity and hostility from people. However, with the way things seem now, her life might not be any more easy even with her great qualifications as she expected. 'They all hate her already.'Hi, readers. I hope we are enjoying the book. There would be a daily update. Thank you::)
In just a week of resuming work as the new and youngest physiotherapist of the department, Stacy had it hard already with the tyranny of the senior doctors and under their scrutinizing eyes that were ready to prey on her.Training on utilization and navigation of the patient's medical records was left for her to fully figure out, and her qualifications were sarcastically questioned many times without a number by the bitter seniors. They handed her so much to do at the same time in just a few days, and the work-life balance she thought she would experience in a hospital meant for top elites was already zero. She was mostly thrown several challenging questions that were even out of her niche by them, but she was able to crush every question beyond their expectations. So that she would falter and make mistakes, Stacy was given more than she was supposed to do in one day and assigned mostly to grumpy, old elites with anger issues and nasty behaviors to frustrate her. However, she was a
The deluxe window curtain parted softly as Carlton moved closer to the French window in his room, revealing a breathtaking view of a meticulously landscaped garden and compound that illustrated glamor. Everywhere around the huge mansion was extremely silent, and he could clearly hear the cascading waters of the fountain in sight, only to be distracted by the double door which parted open as his assistant, James, made his way inside. "Good morning, Mr. Howard. I have been informed that a new doctor will be appointed for you today, sir," James informed Carlton from where he was standing. "Okay," he replied concisely, and did not lift his gaze away from the same spot he had been staring at for minutes. There were so many thoughts that constantly plagued his mind, and it was hard to free himself from those worries. "This time should be better. They said this doctor is so good, and excels at every given job. She is a new doctor in the hospital, and her personal details have been sent to
"So, how was your new client? Does he look like a jerk already?" Nadia asked Stacy as they sat to eat dinner together with curiosity. Stacy came back to the hospital earlier than she predicted and had been busy since her arrival, which made it difficult for her and Nadia to hold a conversation till evening. "The client?" Stacy stared at her blankly, with so much indecisiveness about what to say to her, "Greater than I expected," she chuckled hard. Regardless of how happy she was that she had a friend to talk to in just a few weeks of arriving, there was no way she could tell Nadia that her new client was her ex-husband. It was nearly impossible to even explain or say. It was so hard. Stacy's plan to switch Carlton from being her client was thwarted when she returned to the hospital that day, due to the intentions of her superiors who had assigned her as his doctor.Julia did not pass on the proposal she submitted to the department head, who had the authority to approve her reques
The overwhelming and shocking feeling of seeing Stacy suddenly introduce herself as his doctor, was too sudden for Carlton, and he could not wrap his head around the reality that hit him abruptly. His heart skipped a beat as their eyes met, and he saw a mix of different emotions play across her face – shock, fear, uncertainty, and maybe pity. She looked just as beautiful and gracious as he remembered, and he hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to call her. But his longing and curiosity got the best of him, and he mustered the courage to call her name at the moment. Before he could utter the next word after she said all that she wanted, she turned and left the house immediately, leaving him dumbfounded and confused about what to do. For years he had wondered where she left to, and how she was doing after she was said to have been disowned by her father. His accident made things harder because all focus was on his recovery, and he blamed himself for everything that went wrong in both
James came back home from the office at exactly the time that was stipulated for a break between the patient and doctor, and he was surprised to see Carlton still sitting responsibly in his chair, after his first session had ended quite early with Stacy because she came late. His mind also traveled back to the instructions which were given to him by Carlton the previous day, not to decrease the number of hours that were supposed to be allocated for his medical sessions as discussed initially. Glad that his boss might finally get a better life to rest and a chance to redeem himself, the good assistant hoped positively that Stacy's presence might be for a good course."Hi, James. Please is there anything we can do concerning the security here? Driving my car miles away is stressful already, but they make it harder at the gate by requesting times without numbers, my authenticity of being here," Stacy asked James politely as soon as she saw him enter. Coupled with the fact that she was al
An elegant lady walked through the five-star restaurant which stood as a symbol of elegance and sophistication, and its exterior exuded an air of opulence that was well harmonized with splendid and beautiful ambient lighting which cast an illumination upon the exquisite artwork that adorned the walls.A gust of warm air brushed against her cheeks as she made her way towards the table that had been reserved for her, with her eyes scanning the room and searching for a familiar face. And just sitting across the most beautiful view of the restaurant was a young, handsome man whose well-sculpted face and beautiful eyes screamed perfection, with a broad smile spreading over his cheeks. "Oh my goodness, Liam. Is this really you?" Stacy exclaimed with so much delight in her voice, as she made her way towards the table with more quickened steps that were still elegant. Her gold dress, which was a masterpiece of design crafted from luxurious silk that shimmered at every step, accentuated her c
"Mr. Howard cannot take sessions today," Stacy had the word slapped to her face so early in the morning that she had gotten herself so prepared for the day, and made sure to get to CARLHILLS residence as early as she could. 'You can do it, Stacy. You can!' she had told herself many times as she navigated nervously into the deluxe neighborhood. It was less than twenty-four hours after she had driven out there with so much frowning the previous day, and yet returning felt like she would have so many questions to answer about her behavior which was uncalled-for as a doctor. If Carlton decided to let go of everything they shared and submit just a report against her, then she was as good as gone from the hospital. Though she didn't plan to work at a highly recommended place like that, her good will had somehow found her a nice job with great pay at WILLAND hospital. Working in a place like that would make her CV even more presentable for better jobs that would send her better exposure. S
"Why did you not tell me that you are coming to this hospital to work?! OMG!" Stacy slapped Liam playfully on his back, the moment she entered the hospital and found the person that she was looking for. She could barely hold her wits to herself after Nadia told her, and had called his phone many times to confirm it was his own Liam Wilson, but his phone was unreachable no matter how many times she tried to call him. Carlton didn't end up coming downstairs for his session even when she waited longer, and James told her that she could leave for the day because Carlton was still so busy with work. She drove straight to the hospital after she left CARLHILLS neighborhood, and arrived just in time to see the most surprising person coming out of the department head's office. "Are you that happy to see me?" His voice twinkled with excitement when he saw how bewildered she was when she saw him, "I didn't know news would spread this fast," he grinned."Hmph! You and your crazy surprises. Y
