HANA
JAZMIN has been acting weird since last night she met Averi. She's being quiet and distant, but maybe like what she said, she's just tired. But something is off with her.
Like right now, we're having dinner, and she's reticent. And when we talk about Dad and Averi, her expressions are something that I can't read.
I've never really talked to her in person in seven years, but thanks to the help of social media, we managed to get to know each other well ever since I apologized to her. We get to know what each other likes and don'ts, simple things, and secrets. Even her first love. But she never told me the name of that girl.
She doesn't want to bother the girl anymore
JAZMIN "GOODafternoon, ma'am. I finished cleaning everything but didn't cook because you said you're not going to eat here. So, can I leave now, ma'am?" said the outgoing maid who's just coming to my house to clean every day. Katie is my helper and also my working student. I hired her through my resources. She's been the caretaker of my house ever since I bought and built a house in this lot four years ago. Katie is in her fourth year in the course of accountancy at UST, and I can say she's doing great in the field that she has chosen. For four years, I can say that I have trusted her about anything regarding my house and also my secrets. "Yes, Katie. Thank you. Send my regards to your mom." She nodded.
JAZMINWHEN MY phone vibrated, I was startled even more. I took it from my purse and answered it as I walked to my family's table."Where are you?" Hana's brow furrowed. I can see what she's doing. She's tapping her finger on the table, which is one of her mannerisms. My older sister is impressive.I took a deep breath and then responded to her."I'm right in front of you, your little kitty," I said, smiling. Then she cut the line and looked in my direction; she smiled hugely. As if she had seen her special someone. But I know my sister adores me, which is why I adore her."Hi, Dad." I kissed him on the cheeks, and he was surprised for a moment because he thought I was someone else, and Dad smiled back when he realized it was just
AVERITHE HEADACHE WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD. I'm sorry for ruining the family outing. I was pleased to see Jazmin being so sweet to her family. At the very least, she hasn't changed the old her that I've known. She's still charming to the people she cares about a lot.How about me?Me?No, you're not welcome.Of course, I am. I'm from Jazmin's past. Yes, past. And, as I've previously stated, the past is the past.I shook the thoughts out of my head. It will cause me more pain, not only in my mind but also in my heart. But I'm feeling better no
PEARLFour hours ago...THE BELL rang for my first-period class this afternoon. I'm now a professor at my alma mater, UST. At UST, I completed both my bachelor's and master's degrees in education. I teach classes in the Accounting Department, primarily to the graduating class.I entered the room and waited for my students to enter. They smiled as they greeted me, and I smiled back. When the last bell rang, I shut the door."Okay, class, get back to work where you left off the last time. I'll give you twenty minutes to finish it today, and then we'll start another Accounting 501 lecture. Your time has arrived." I told them to return to my table.I sat there and reached into my bag for my phone. I checked it and
AVERI"COME ON, Ave. Just this once, please," Keyla begged."Are you going to do this?" I ask; my voice is unsure. She nodded, a frown on her face. "Without a doubt.""Keyla, I don't want to interfere in your relationship; I don't want to get involved in other people's problems right now; I have too many things to deal with," I explained as I returned to my car."Averi! Please!" she exclaimed. "I'm your best friend, remember? Please just do this once, please." She sounds desperate, and she's right; she's my best friend, and whatever happens to her is my concern."Alright, just this once, okay?" she smiled as she drag
AVERITHE MOON was magnificent tonight. I raised my left hand as if I was reaching for it. I was like that for a moment, and when I got tired, I put my hand down. I sigh deeply and sip the wine from my right hand. I'm not getting drunk; it's just a way for me to process what happened a while ago.I was on the balcony of my Rockwell condominium. After the incident in the mall, I came right here and locked myself up. No, I'm not going to jump from this fifty-story building. I'm not that crazy or desperate.I haven't been back to Miller's in almost five days. George always called and invited me to dinner at their mansion, but I managed to escape and throw alibis he quickly bought.I'm not betraying George. We still see each other, but I
JAZMINI QUICKLY WASH the dishes. I was whistling the entire time I was doing the dishes. Joy has a hold on me. I'm thrilled that she's in MY home. No, I'm not going to take advantage of her, but I will make a new start in a new friendship for Dad's sake. Is this correct? Ugh! Stop contradicting yourself, Brain. When I was finished, I went to my room and attempted to open the door without making any noise. On my bed was a lovely figure. Averi is still sleeping on her back, facing away from me. I resisted the urge to rush to her side and wrap her in my arms forever. Instead, I went to my closet, pulled out a nightgown, and went to the shower. I can't sleep in too many clothes.I was about to leave the bathroom when I heard her mumbling. Is she calling me? I went into her room and found her stil
JAZMINIT'S BEEN A WEEK SINCE THE 'Kiss' incident with Averi. Thankfully, we haven't spoken and haven't run into each other since then. Dad was out of town for two weeks, and I'm glad he's gone because he'll notice that his Ave and daughter aren't getting along. I'm having trouble dealing with his interrogation right now. He shouldn't know all of this so soon.Hana is preoccupied with her schoolwork and band. We barely see each other. She kept inviting me to all of her events, but as the OIC at Angel Food, I was too preoccupied with my job. But I miss my little sister. My phone rang while I was checking the portfolio in my hands. The song Passenger Seat began to play. Since the unexpected kiss, I've been using it as my ringtone. It reminds me of her and our memoirs. I know I'm be
