Misunderstanding

Casandra almost fell while bringing coffee to John, Luna, and her stepfather. Luckily, John soon took hold of her body, but the coffee she was carrying had now spilled out.

"Casandra," Luna said as she took over the task of the coffee cup Casandra had brought. She put a tray of three cups onto the table and looked at Casandra's state. "Are you hurt?"

"I'm okay."

"Sit down. I'll bring you medicine." Luna immediately went to get their stash of medicine.

Casandra felt a stinging in her right hand. The hot coffee had hit her hand. She whimpered in pain.

John ignored Casandra. He enjoyed a cup of coffee without seeing Casandra, who now saw him as if he needed attention from him.

"Why is he always cruel to me?" This girl said quietly.

Luna came over carrying the medicine box. She painstakingly treated Casandra's red hands from being exposed to hot coffee earlier.
