Chapter 61

“Bye-bye,” Lilly said to Timothy and Jason a few hours later, waving as she and Chan watched the boys heading into Marian’s car.

“See you tomorrow,” Jason said.

“See you tomorrow,” Lilly shouted back.

A moment later, the boys and their grandmother were gone, and Chan took Lilly by the hand and led her back into the house.

“Bath?” Chan asked as they climbed the stairs.

“Mm-hmm.” Lilly nodded.

As Chan was bathing Lilly, her mind was on Sam, who was currently at work again, up in his office on the third floor. He had said something about an urgent meeting with Jeremy and the others on the team. It was probably about the new hotel and resort project they were currently working on.

Of course, the episode back in the living area this evening was still fresh in her mind: the kissing, and more so, the way in which Sam had looked like he had wanted to say something. Or rather, ask something. She remembered, too, that he had said something like tell me when you’re ready.
