Chapter 14

"Excuse me, ma'am, but the president requests your presence in his office."

I hadn't even stepped foot into my office yet, and that was the first thing to greet me. I let out a weary sigh. I had been looking forward to this day, especially since I missed my date on Friday. I also deliberately ignored my father's calls, knowing that he would scold me for what happened. I left the house last night, fully aware that he would show up.

I dropped my bag and made my way to the president's floor.

My father's secretary stood up immediately upon seeing me.

"Who's inside?" I asked before she could say anything.

"Your father and sister. They've been waiting for you for a while," she replied. I greeted her with a smile as I entered the office.

It felt like seeing Veronica for the first time all over again. This time, I knew her, and I wouldn't be caught off guard.
