Veronica let out a heavy sigh when she saw that Frans wasn't in their apartment. It was unusual for him to have any other teaching commitments besides his classes. So, she assumed Frans might be angry about what happened at the university earlier that day.

In the evening, she decided to take a nap while waiting for her husband to return. After cleaning herself up, she climbed onto the bed and lay there.
