Chapter 44

"Mrs Julia!"

Clara's voice sounded, diverting Julia's focus and gaze from tapping on Bella's bedroom door.

Seeing her assistant approaching, Julia immediately threw a question, confident that if there was something important, her assistant would convey it to her.

"What's up, Clara?"

"Sorry to disturb. But Mr. Aaron downstairs is calling for you. He says there's something left behind and you need to pick it up yourself."

Julia nodded, then hurriedly made her way downstairs to where Aaron was waiting.

Making sure Julia had left, Clara knocked on Bella's bedroom door again.

"Miss... wake up quickly."

Perhaps Julia's earlier knocking had already woken Bella up, or maybe Bella had been awake all along.

Either way, not long after Clara knocked, the bedroom door opened. Bella appeared, wearing only a thin nightgown.

"Clara? What's the matter?"

"Miss, Mrs. Julia has returned. She's downstairs now."

"W-what?"

Bella was startled. Her expression quickly turned confused and worried.
