Since yesterday, Edward had been thinking about what to do to melt Bella's heart and make her no longer angry with him.

On Samuel's advice, Edward even went so far as to go shopping to buy various items. From trivial things like dolls to expensive gifts that were countless in number.

Every time Bella went to eat in the dining room, Edward tried to sneak into her room to place one gift after another that he had bought for her. Hoping Bella's heart would melt and she would forgive him.

Because talking directly or making phone calls was believed not to get a response, before going to sleep, Edward finally decided to send a short message to Bella. Hoping that his short message and his intention to reconcile would get a response from Bella.
