NAIA'S PAST

"Cheers to the first parallel champion from the science department!" said the principal during the morning assembly.

Naia came forward proudly. Finally, after a year of only coming second, she could now come first again. Her smile could not go down at all. And only this time did she feel satisfied and pleased. The tip of her eyes could not escape Edgar, who stood in the front row while clapping his hands.

"You're not giving up this first place, are you?" asked Naia as she held up her report card.

Edgar raised his hand. "Oh, no. There is no way I would willingly give up first place to someone else. Moreover, the prize from school is a lot of money," said Edgar.

Naia smiled embarrassedly. "That's good. If you find out that I didn't get this ranking because of my hard work but because you are sorry, watch out!" Naia said while showing her fist.

Edgar laughed. He then looked at his friends, who called him while carrying a basketball. Edgar said hello back.

"I'll go first!" he said.
