The road was almost empty as only a few cars are travelling at the hour. Kiara just watched the streetlights pass in a blur, lighting up her face as they both fell into a peaceful and comforting silence. She does not know where he is taking her, yet she was sure that it wasn’t the path to his home. They are going out of the city as buildings and skyscrapers are starting to fade, being replaced by small houses and fields, trees at the sides instead of establishments, and since the tall and bright lights of buildings are now gone in sight, she can clearly see the dark veil of the sky, stars twinkling above them, the moon shining its serenity. Kiara felt at peace.
It was a long yet peaceful ride, driving under the night sky, losing in their own worlds, just the two of them, in one place, escaping the world.
