Amnesty

Adam's POV

"Thank you so much Mr Stone," A man's voice sifted into my ears through the landline.  

"We appreciate all you have done and all you are doing for our orphanage. We are immensely grateful."

"Don't mention, Mr Pearson," I mumbled. "If there is a lack, just reach out to Lillian and I'm certain she'll sort it out."

"Thank you so much!" 

Well that was quite enthusiastic. A very different mood from how I felt. The call ended and I heaved a sigh.  

I was tired as hell. I knew I should have made Lillian handle the calls, but I wanted to hear about the children in the orphanage from Pearson directly. I needed to confirm that he cared about them.
