Amelia jumped happily with a doughnut in her hand, a mischievous smile painted on her face as she giggled to herself, knowing very well she was on her way to annoy her husband. Served him right for deciding to work from home and stopping her from filming because of the threat she had received the other day.. She took in a deep breath when she reached Ethan's study and waited till she finished eating her doughnut. Without knocking, she opened the door ever so slightly, creating a creaking sound then peeked through the crack. Ethan appeared to be too immersed in his work. The space between his eyebrows was creased and his icy-gray eyes were focused on his laptop. Amelia opened the door wider and entered the study. She then tiptoed towards Ethan's desk. "Ethan… I wanted to ask something," Amelia said the moment she got close enough. He looked up and shook his head but she ignored him and continued, "would you still love me if you were allergic to me?" She looked down at her
When they reached the hotel, Ethan grabbed Amelia's nape and gave her a deep passionate kiss. Amelia was caught off guard at first but she quickly accepted his kiss and their tongues danced around each others' for a while until they separated to get some air. "Are you trying to finish what we were doing in the parking lot?" Amelia asked breathlessly. Ethan's kisses always took her breath away in a good way which left her craving for more. Ethan chuckled, pinching her cheeks, "so naughty… I just felt like kissing you. If it were up to me, I would kiss you all the damn time… you taste divine." Amelia clamped her legs together when she felt a zap of electricity down there. 'Damn.. this man.' She thought in her mind as she breathed in his scent. He had placed his forehead on hers for a few seconds and then leaned back into his seat. "Let's go." They proceeded to a private room they had booked in advance and waited for Jake's housekeeper to show up. "Are you nervous?" Ethan as
The moment Christabel was shot, Ethan's bodyguards took down the shooter. Ethan's heart raced…. That was a close call. He saw that Amelia appeared to be shocked so he pulled her into his arms to calm her down.. "It's okay… they are dead. They won't hurt you.. don't be scared. I'm here." He whispered as he tightened his arms around her.. His heart ached when he noticed how she was trembling and gripping his shirt tightly. He felt guilty for bringing her with him. The scent of blood hung in the air, making Ethan wrinkle his nose. Kissing the top of Amelia's head, he suggested, "let's get out of here." Amelia nodded and followed him towards the car. He could see she was still trembling which further ignited his guilt. Ethan had wanted to apologize for being angry earlier but he kept quiet. That was not the time. "Watch out!" He heard Amelia shriek just as she hugged him from behind. Confused, he turned to see what was going on when a gunshot sounded and he stumbled backwards
"Hahaha… darling. Did you hear? Amelia is fighting for her life. There's no news about it because it was blocked but I paid someone from the hospital." Cheryl took a large sip of the wine in her glass as she celebrated her enemy's downfall. She kept laughing completely oblivious of Jake's livid expression. He was upset that his people mistakenly shot Amelia, the love of his life instead of Ethan Carter. Now she was hurt while the person he intended to kill was still breathing and still in Amelia's life. "Jake? Are you listening to me?" Cheryl's annoying voice snapped him back to the present. He looked at her and internally frowned. What kind of person would be happy that someone almost got killed? He hid his disgust and answered, "sorry, you were saying?" "I said this news calls for celebration. Don't you think? We can drink and make babies-" "Get out!" Jake cut her off, anger flared inside of him. The woman he was in love with was almost dying and here she was talking ab
Amelia had a long dream. It was sweet at first but later turned into a nightmare when she realized she couldn't wake up from it. She had dreamt of a happy life with Ethan. There were no worries, just happiness and perfection. Everyday was blissful; she wanted it to last forever. But then she noticed everything was the same everyday. She kept going through the same things over and over again. It was like re-living the same experiences everyday. She realized it wasn't real and decided to make a run for it. The man in her dreams was not Ethan. At least, not the real one. When she finally escaped from the illusion, she found herself in an abyss. There was darkness everywhere and it was eerily quiet. A shiver went down her spine as she looked around. "Hello." She called out but all she heard was her own voice echoing around her. "Is there anybody here?" Again the echoing of her voice was all she could hear followed by a dead silence. Fear crept inside her, making her hug her a
Weeks passed. Amelia had finally been discharged from the hospital but she still needed to go for physiotherapy to help her walk properly. She couldn't even move her arms without wincing from the pain. Her injury had been kept under wraps. Ethan had pulled some strings to halt the filming of soul until she was ready to get back to work. They needed another artist to replace Cheryl anyway. Apart from Ethan and her parents, not even Amelia's friends knew she was shot. She just told them she had been traveling to get her mind off the recent scandals about her. This was because she didn't like being pitied, plus her friends had their own problems and lives of their own. The good part was, Ethan was a sweetheart the entire time. He was always at her beck and call. Helping her eat, walk and do other stuff that she couldn’t do by herself. Of course, her favorite part was when he would give her a warm relaxing bath. Amelia never thought being married was this enjoyable. If she knew yo
As days went by, Amelia was getting better and could now do things on her own. Ethan's leave had ended and he had to go back to work. He had been working from home to take care of her. Owen was following Ethan around in his cute spiderman pajamas at 6:00 am as he prepared himself for work. "Can I come with you?" Owen asked, looking up at Ethan. Ethan chuckled and ruffled his hair. He then crouched down to be eye level with him and answered, "not today. I'll be very busy. But I promise… once I'm done with my pending work, I'll take you for a tour at the company." "Really? Promise?" Owen's eyes brightened and made Ethan's heart tickle. "I promise… we can do a pinky promise if you want." Owen scrunched his nose, "nah… That's for girls. Men do this." He made a fist and waited for Ethan to do the same. Ethan smiled then fist bumped Owen's little fist. "Take care of your sister for me….okay?" Owen nodded his head and escorted Ethan out the door. "Bye!" He waved at him. "B
In the past few weeks, Ethan had tried his best to look after Amelia. He had taken a leave from work wanting to take care of her himself. The fact that she had taken a bullet for him made an intense guilt creep into his heart. He was supposed to be the one protecting her but he failed terribly resulting in her getting hurt. Each time she tried to hold back her pain just to assure him that she was fine, a pang of guilt shot through his heart. Guilt would always eat at him for the rest of his life. Fortunately, she had recovered and he returned to work. He found out that even though Jake Stallion had been arrested and the evidence of his crimes had gone viral. The fucker had not yet been prosecuted. It turned out he had connections with a certain politician who kept on delaying the progress of the case. Now, Ethan was working on finding dirt on the said politician so that he could back off from Jake's case. He couldn't risk him being released when he played with guns. He was
