I have been staying indoors for the past two days and my mother has not been happy with me for days. She expected me to do something and hinder Zina's trip but it was no longer in my power. I need to talk with Gabriel. He is in the best position to know the next line of action.

I quickly picked up my phone and called his line but it was not connecting. My mother barged into my room and I was startled.

"You scared me mom."

"I don't see the reason why you will be scared. What is the next thing to do?"

"I am actually calling Gabriel but his number isn't connecting."

"You see the reason why I told you that I do not trust that guy but you insisted."

"Mom, you are too fast at concluding things. I just told you that his number is not connecting, we just have to exercise patience till his number connects back. Maybe it is out of network coverage or the phone might be switched off."

"Will you keep shut! You can't be here and know what is happening there. Why must his line not connect?"
