Chapter Twenty

Seeing Emma's sudden expression of joy upon seeing him, Lucas was taken aback and embraced her, a grin slowly spreading across his face. "Thank you for arriving at an opportune time; that man was rather eerie and unsettling," Emma mumbled against his neck, to which Lucas simply nodded in agreement.

"The driver mentioned your arrival wasn't anticipated until tonight. What brought about the change?" Emma inquired as she stepped back from him.

"Perhaps I couldn't contain my excitement to see you any longer," Lucas smirked, and Emma responded with a playful glare before dragging her suitcase away, with Lucas following behind, entertained.

Upon reaching the hotel, two employees warmly greeted them and accompanied them to the private elevator up to the top floor, where a grand presidential suite awaited them. As they entered, the staff disappeared with a promise to call on the room's telephone if they needed anything.
