Chapter 53

Alexander opened the door and they all went inside. The house was warm and inviting. Alexander could smell the delicious aroma of dinner cooking in the oven.

"It's so good to be home," Celine said.

"Me too," Alexander said.

They all walked into the kitchen and saw that Alexander's housekeeper, Mrs Jenkins, was cooking dinner.

"Mrs Jenkins," Alexander said, "it's so good to see you."

"It's good to see you too, sir," she said. "Dinner will be ready in about 15 minutes."

"Thank you," Alexander said.

They all went into the living room and sat down. Bryan immediately started playing with his toys.

"So," Alexander said, "what did you think of your stay at the estate?"

"I loved it," Celine said. "It was so nice to spend time with you and Bryan. And your mother was a wonderful host."

"I'm glad you enjoyed it," Alexander said. "I know I did."

They talked for a while longer, and then Mrs Jenkins called them to dinner. They all went into the dining room and sat down.
