Chapter 29 : Family Ties

Duncan sat at his desk, the room dimly lit by the soft glow of his desk lamp. His hands trembled slightly as he reached for the glass of water. The recent health scare had shaken him to his core, forcing him to confront his mortality. The conversation with his sons, Fabio and Felix, had been a wake-up call. He knew it was time to bring them into the fold and make them aware of the complexities and dangers of their business dealings.

Taking a deep breath, Duncan picked up the phone and dialed Thompson’s number. After a few rings, his old friend’s voice came through the line.

“Thompson here.”

“Thompson, it’s Duncan. We need to talk. Can you come over to the house tonight?”

There was a brief pause before Thompson responded. “Of course, Duncan. I’ll be there in an hour.”

Duncan hung up the phone and leaned back in his chair, staring at the ceiling. He knew this conversation would be difficult, but it was necessary. The future of their families depended on it.
