I froze when I heard Enzo’s voice from behind me.

I closed my eyes and bit my lips.

“What are you doing here?” I asked

“We came here after the suit-fitting. We weren’t far from here, and I wanted to see you so…”

“You can’t be here right now,” I said in a shaky voice.

“Why not, baby? I wanted to see you,” he said.

“It’s forbidden for the groom to see the bride in the dress before the wedding,” I tried making up an excuse, but he wasn’t buying it.

I sighed in defeat and finally faced him.

“How much did you hear?” I asked in a dejected voice.

“A lot, baby,” he said. “Why didn’t you tell me about these things?”

I wanted to hold onto her arm and have her stay here, but she quickly got out and left the two of us.
