Haley When I wake up the next morning I see Avery watching me. He looks very tired. “Have you been watching me all night?” “Mostly. Haley It’s been a week and Mason hasn't been able to track down Hope’s daughter, Akila. I worry the longer she is out there alone the more likely someone who wants to harm her will find her first. Mason has been gone all week and only just returned to rest and replenish his gear before heading back out. We also still haven’t had any of our students show up. Haley “Whoa there Haley. Are you okay?” Mason has a hand under my elbow to support me and Harrison is pushing a chair underneath me. I huff a bit frustrated and walk away from them. “I’m fine Mason. Just a lot of stress lately.” “Haley, you almost fainted. You should go see Dr. Sully,” Mason insists. “She vomited early too,” betrays Ray and I glare at him. “I’m fine. I’m going to head to the afternoon training session. I need to let out this frustration.” All four boys follow me and voice their objection to the idea of me sparing against someone right now. Haley My heart is racing and I feel guilty that I just put my pup in a dangerous situation. A tear falls down my face and Mason picks up the speed. “I’m sorry Haley. I shouldn’t have let you accept that challenge. He’s going to kill me.” I still have no words to reply to him. I think I am in shock. All that fighting could’ve hurt my pup, “Haley?” I still don’t answer as tears continue to fall. I might just go back and kill that she-wolf if I lose this child. “Fuck!” Mason swerves to avoid a deer. I grab the dash board and wait for Mason to get control back of the car. He continues to speed towards the pack clinic and skids to a stop as we pull up to Dr. Sully’s office. I am sure Mason has mind linked Dr. Sully as they are waiting for me outside with a wheel chair. Alpha Avery I’m going to kick my brother’s ass. He should’ve told me immediately when Haley got challenged for her position, especially since it was Amanda. By the time I make it to the training field Mason mind linked me that he is already taking Haley to the hospital. I’m pissed that I wasted time as the hospital is across town and it’ll take me twenty minutes to get there. I can feel Haley’s fear and nervousness. She’s refusing to let me through the mind link and that just makes me worry about her more. I can still feel my connection to her so I know she won the challenge but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t badly hurt. HaleyI am still worried about having a girl and her being cursed but having Avery by my side has calmed me. He truly believes everything will turn out okay and we will break this curse. When I open my eyes I don’t find Avery in bed with me and his side has gone cold so I know he has been up for a few hours. I can smell something delicious and decide to get out of bed to investigate.I make my way to the kitchen and find Avery is cooking breakfast. He’s made so much food I’d think he is feeding the whole pack. He has pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit cut up, biscuits and gravy, and much more.“Uhhh, Avery? Alpha Avery I am glad to see Haley in better spirits today. I’ll have to ensure she eats more now that she is growing two of my pups. Twins. I can’t believe it. I am going to be a father in just a few short months. Just as I suspected, my mother is planning everything, including all the essential items a baby needs. I highly doubt they really need everything she is listing out. I look at the clock and realize Haley is normally at her store by now if she is not training. “Love, don’t you have some students to teach this afternoon?” “No. After yesterday’s events I let everyone know I wouldn’t be teaching today.” I can tell she is hiding something, but doesn’t want to tell. I let it slide as I know I’ll find out what it is eventually. “Alright, well I have some work to do. I’ll see you around dinner.” “Please take some of this food to border patrol or whoever.
