Chapter 39

They rode the black mini-truck to the 7th hideout. She and Bangs sat beside each other while holding hands until she fell asleep. Hours later, she woke up lying in a bed, surrounded by a white curtain, and her head throbbing.

"Hey, Iston, how is she?"

The voice is familiar. She recognizes it as Airah's.

"Could you please lower your voice?"

She remembers that voice too. It was Iston's.

"So grumpy," Airah snorted. "No wonder you don't have a girlfriend."

"As if you have a boyfriend."

"So mean too! I'm not going to help you find a girl here."

What are they arguing about? Lesley forced her eyes open again. The surroundings are still blurry, but she can tell she is in some sort of infirmary. Her clothes have changed too.

"I don't need your advice, and I don't need your help," Iston stressed.

"Oh, but you need it! I know all of the girls here. I'm the leader, after all. I must know everyone."
