He's In Trouble

[Eliana’s POV]

I lay in bed, trying to relax, but every time I close my eyes, I see Nol’s hurt frame and begin to worry once more. Why in the hell did he willingly go to Gray like that? I knew that he took every precaution, and I should have faith in that, but I couldn’t seem to calm my unease.

"He’ll be fine," Alexandria’s voice drifts toward me, reminding me that she’s with me. "You should really try to get some sleep; otherwise, the giant will blame me."

Since our talk earlier, we had fallen into some strange form of friendship, and she somehow became my guardian while Nol and Blaine were away.

"I’ll be fine," I assure her, forcing a smile. "Instead of worrying about me, shouldn’t you be focusing on Zane?"

"He’s asleep," she responds. "He probably won’t wake until the morning. He almost died, so he needs all the rest, so I’m not going to bother him."
