CHAPTER 48 Cora's Revenge 

  Thomas's POV

  The warrior beside Mia helps her to her feet and steadies her as she hobbles her way across the field. Much to my surprise, Cora comes running in her direction and tackles her with a hug.

  "Oh, Mia," Cora sobs. "I was so worried."

  Mia pets the back of Cora's head and quietly whispers to her that she is okay. I watch in stunned silence as the two sisters, who once hated each other, comfort one another. I notice that Cora has silver shackles on her wrists and Mia hiss out in pain when they touch her skin, but it does not stop Mia from hugging her sister.

  Holding Cora at arm's length, Mia looks her over. Her eyes fall on the cuffs and Mia turns to me. "We have to get these off of her," she says and I don't miss the command in her voice.

  "But..." I begin to protest but Mia raises an eyebrow at me and I know better than to argue.
