Chapter 52: Reminiscence: Back in Time...?

A strong, irritating sensation came flashing in my eyes, damping my sensitive eyelids with a familiar warmth. As I opened my eyes, the wooden ceiling greeted my blurry sight.

Wait…it was a dream?

I reached for my head, which was aching the moment I opened my eyes. But, it wasn't just my head. My entire body…was screaming in pain. I curled on top of the body, hugging myself when a wave of ghost pain trickled on my every sense. I felt like I broke into a cold sweat.

That dream…shit, did I die in that dream?

I shivered on that thought. Everything that transpired, I still…felt it. The pain on my body as it collided with that speeding truck.

It was surreal…

"Damn it, mom. Just leave us alone. All is done so you can't do anything about it anymore. Dad already gave us his blessing–oh shit, Lia! Love, you're awake!" Suddenly, the door flung open, revealing Rupert who came rushing in towards me, throwing the phone he was holding.

He hugged me tight on his arms, burying my face deep on his ches
