CHAPTER 14

Bella sat anxiously waiting for Arthur to leave for the office. It was a work day and she was so eager to meet her brother.

She knew she had to inform Arthur of her going out, but she didn’t want him in her business. Theirs was a business transaction and she didn’t want them getting entangled in each other’s private lives.

Well, not her life. She hated being pitied or taken advantage of and it was the one reason she was avoiding telling Arthur the truth.

Despite how much she waited, the man didn’t seem to leave. Instead, he climbed the bed and ran his fingers up her arm. The signature chills she had come to associate with his touch ran through her, reminding her of last night. Last night had been different.
