Ethan reached the end of the stairs, and a girl in a suggestive dress greeted him. My blood boiled inside me, but I calmed down when I saw that he didn't pay her much attention.

He approached some men in executive suits who were showing him some papers. Ethan was talking and talking with those men.

Who were they? What the hell was he doing there, and why was he signing papers?

I shook my head and pressed the elevator button, waiting for it to arrive. I couldn't stop glancing in Ethan's direction.

He was leaning against a shiny metal railing and seemed pensive, watching people come and go. Every time he looked in my direction, I lowered my head as if I were searching for something in my bag.

At that moment, I saw him take out his phone and dial a number. I wondered who he was calling. I tensed up as I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.

I took it out and saw that it was him calling me.

"Yes?" I tried to shrink in my spot to minimize the noise and avoid being discovered.
