"So, what do you think?" Amelia asked, looking at herself once again in the mirror of my room.

She had a tennis ball in her hands, which she had found in the guest room a few days ago.

I glanced at Amy, tired of her asking me for the fifth time how her dress looked.

"It looks nice, Amy," I said listlessly.

My friend turned to look at me as soon as she heard me speak. Her expression changed to a slightly worried one.

She approached the bed and sat down next to me.

"What's wrong, Minnie?" She put a hand on my arm, waiting for me to confide in her.

"Nothing is wrong," I said, turning away to avoid looking at her. Her eyes reminded me of someone I didn't want to remember at that moment. "Of course, something is wrong; tell me what's going on," my friend grabbed my arm and made me turn to look at her.

"It's Esther, Amy, she's been really sick lately," I looked down at the little ball I held in my hands.

"Who's Esther?" She asked, interested.

"She's Ethan's mother," I said with sorrow.
