Detective Richards didn’t trust Cal Martin from the moment he laid eyes on him.

He just gave off the vibe of a very angry and violent man. There was something in his eyes that showed he wasn’t all that stable.

“What is this about?” Cal rolled his eyes.

“Do you know a Donovan Lewis?”

“Unfortunately. He’s a fucking loser who got my girlfriend pregnant.”

“He’s dead.”

“I thought the world seemed like a better place.” Cal grinned.

Detective Richards was taken aback by Cal’s response. He didn’t even pretend to be upset by this news.

“What was your relationship with him?” Detective Richards questioned.

“He was a pain in my ass. My nose still hasn’t healed from when he broke it.”

“What was your fight about?”

“Iris. He couldn't accept that Iris was still in love with me and it made him angry. He was a very violent and aggressive man. I think Iris was in danger with him, honestly. I wouldn’t be shocked if he put hands on her.”
