Chapter 20

The rain had completely disappeared today, replaced with the blazing sunlight. The streets seemed like there was no rain the night before, and everyone went about in their usual morning rush.

Theodore held the car door open for Abigail before joining her on the other side. They drove in comfortable silence as the morning news filled the quietness of the car. However, unlike all the other times they travelled together, Theodore held Abigail’s hand across the console, which was highly comfortable for them both.

As Theodore drove past Brown’s Café that was right across from his place of work, Abigail stared at him in confusion.

“I thought we were getting breakfast,” she pointed out in questioning.

Theodore nodded. “We are. But I’m taking you somewhere that is closer to your workplace. I don’t want to make you late,” he said, causing Abigail’s cheeks to heat up.
