Amanda walked gently into the chief officer's office along with Fred who had already called her lawyer.

The office was quite appalling. It had a wide air-conditioning that hung on the wall. Besides the AC was a big abstract artwork by the popular Nathan Emorey. How he grew from this to that was inspiring to the people of New Hilton.

Amanda at this point didn't know what to even think. Confusion clouded her vision.

Fred and his surbodinates were asked to wait outside until Amanda has been fully interrogated.

Amanda's stomach churned inside of her. It was like she had swallowed a big chunk of iron and now, it's hurting her badly.

She began to wish she had Ethan here. From the little time she had spent with him, she concluded that he was a nice, caring guy who would save her in tough situations like these.
