“Miss Chen, you can continue that tomorrow,” Mr. Gu reminded Evina.
“Sir?” She swiveled to look at him. Then her eyes darted to the setting sun, which was visible in their office. Her eyes widened in surprise. She immediately checked on her watch to confirm it. “It was 5pm already? I didn’t even notice!”
Evina was so engrossed in her work that she didn’t even realize that it was already time for them to go home. Her dainty fingers flew to her aching back as she stretched her shoulders.
“It’s only your first day. Don’t overwork yourself,” Mr.Gu smiled at her before leaving. Evina gave the same affection towards him. As he looked at his warm personality, she was reminded of Mr. Li, her former boss at Sapphire, Inc.
“I wonder how they are,” Evina muttered as she packed her stuff. She also remembered Cynthia. She was thinking of calling her when Mr. Yang appeared in front of her.
