Sean walked down the mansion halls to his father’s study with an expressionless face, but anyone who knew him well could see the anger hidden behind his ocean blue eyes.
Gestures that looked normal to ordinary people, couldn’t deceive the eyes of those closest to him. Sean tried hard with the self-confidence that he was going to rebel from his shell all along.
The Mansion which was Reviano’s residence looked deserted.
Everyone including maids seemed to be deliberately hiding, knowing the change in the atmosphere around which became tense as soon as Sean’s car entered the mansion yard.
Sean knocked on the large door in front of him twice. Manners he learned since he was five years old. He obediently waited until he heard his father’s deep voice telling him to come inside.
“Come in,” Houston Reviano said commandingly.
Sean gritted his teeth, as he held his jaw. He entered the room and looke
Daren just came out of the meeting room with the other Luna Star Executives. Some of the employees who had attended the meeting together were still in the room, they made way for the Executives to leave first.Hadley who was the head of the Quality Control Division stopped in his tracks when he saw their CEO. He smiled when Sean’s walked there.“Looks like Mr. CEO just came back,” Hadley said to another colleague.Sean Reviano walked briskly down the hall towards the group of Executives standing in front of the meeting room.Seeing his best friend was back, Daren smiled to say hello, but the atmosphere turned tense once Sean was in front of them, because the smile on Daren’s face disappeared in an instant when two hard punches landed on his left cheek while his body crashed to the floor. There was a commotion that caught the attention of the nearby Luna Star employees.Dario Leaman, a Financial Manager who stood not f
Sean ran down the hospital hallway. He ignored several nurses. It was only Via and the baby in her womb in his mind. His cell phone vibrated non-stop, made him saw the message that Tya had sent, telling him the location of her treatment room.Seeing Sean who was present from the end of the hall, Tya stood up from the bench and waited until he arrived nearby.“What happened?” Sean asked, his voice was shaking with emotion.Tya looked at Sean worriedly, while her hands squeezed together with nervousness.“She saw a magazine that had your picture on with that woman. Then she soon turned pale and I took her home. I had just left her for a while, when I heard a scream and found Via with blood all over her body.” Tya cried remembering the incident. “I’ve never seen so much blood in my life. I thought I would lose her then and there.”Sean’s body felt weak until he sat on the waiting bench follow
Via’s room felt cramped. Sean thought about moving her to a bigger room, but he refused to go out and left her alone, so all he did was always sitting beside her.Sean stroked Via’s pale cheek. He also kissed her sleeping face.“I’m sorry, Baby,” Sean whispered in a trembling voice. The tough man lowered his face, ignoring the tears that slowly rolled down his cheeks to his chin. He cried silently. Their time wasted because of misunderstanding and also his selfishness. If only before going to Blueberry he explained the gossip, she might not be lying there.“I’m sorry,” Sean mumbled as he cupped her hands in his grip, then kissed her knuckles that were drooping helplessly.Sean got up from the chair and hugged Via who was lying down. For a long time, he wrapped his arms around her frail body. The great fear of losing her ate up his logic, so he was reluctant to let go of her who was in his embra
Nicko Andreson approached Sean who was leaning against the wall near the hospital garden. Both of them stared at the lamp illuminating the streets around the courtyard. The two men were silent for a long time and watched the passers-by. Until in the end, Nicko took out a cigarette and offered it to Sean which he flatly refused.Nicko shrugged and threw the cigarette on the ground. Neither of them smoked, Nicko was just making small gesture. He got the nicotine stick from one of the subordinates he brought with him. At first, Nicko thought it would lighten the mood. After a long silence, Nicko said, “Take Via from here.” He put his hands in his pockets because the cold air was starting to bite his skin. “I have a villa on a private island. Stay there for the time being. I’ve provided all the facilities Via needs, including a medical team that’s available twenty-four hours.”Sean glanced at the man next to him. He didn&rsq
The dancing waves sounded like music to Via’s ear, pulling her deeper into her dreams. Her lips curved a smile, feeling how beautiful her dream was at that time. In fact, she vaguely saw Sean who was also lying on the bed right next to her.Via tried to be more focused. She looked at the face of the man she loved. Her heart swelled with joy, as if it was about to explode from her chest. She hoped for the dream lasted a long time, because the hidden longing in her heart made her reluctant to face the real world.Via’s hands wrapped around Sean’s waist, which was without a thread. He only wore shorts that were covered by a blanket to his stomach.Via’s dream came to reality when she touched Sean’s warm skin. Also, she could smell the familiar scent of his masculine body. She consciously sniffed Sean’s bare chest, shamelessly kissing the surface of his skin.Who could blame her in a dream? She could enjoy anything wi
Via looked at Sean who was feeding her. He patienttly scooped mouthful after mouthful. He didn’t complain when Via was slow to chew, or reluctant to accept food which was thrust in front of her mouth. He just kept smiling and made Via unconsciously finish more than half the bowl of soup.“I’m full,” Via finally said, looking away as Sean held the spoon to her lips.Sean put the stainless spoon back in the porcelain bowl and set it on the table. He gave a glass of mineral water. Via accepted without protest. This time, he turned to the fruit on the table. He peeled the skin of the apple that had been in the tray. Sean’s fingers were so good at peeling fruit in his hand. He split the fruit into several pieces, then fed it to Via again. She stared at the fruit which was only inches in front of her face. She even stole a glance at Sean who was sitting quietly.Seeing the struggle of Sean who fed her, Via relented and
“You wanna go outside?” Sean asked Via. He remembered when Doctor Timothy stated that Via’s condition was getting better, but she was still under surveillance so she couldn’t do strenuous activities.Via thought for some minutes before finally answering.“Let me change pajamas with sundress,” said Via while trying to get up.Sean quickly carried Via, makes her screamed in surprise and looked at Sean confused when he put her back on the bed.“What are you doing?”“Just stay in bed,” Sean said using a relentless intonation, as he walked to the closet looking for a lemon yellow sundress. “I like it when you wear this color,” he said showing the sundress to her.Seeing the sundress in Sean’s hands, Via shook her head in disbelief. Sometimes Sean turned into overprotective even to the point of forbidding to walk to the wardrobe! It looked like Sean’s person
Sean walked across the beach and ran into Gideon Rose. The two men’s eyes locked onto each other and they just nodded in unison as they passed. No words spoken, only glances understood each other’s position. In fact, Sean didn’t even look at the woman in the man’s arms, because he also didn’t like it when a stranger looked at Via.Sean’s face that had been flat turned soft once it was within Via’s line of sight.“You waited me long?” Sean asked while bending down and giving Via a kiss on her forehead.“No, I was just talking to our neighbor,” Via answered while staring at the couple who had drifted away.Via’s gaze returned to the book in Sean’s hand. The woman’s smile disappeared as soon as she saw the book Sean had brought.Seeing Via’s sudden change in expression, Sean looked at the book doubtfully.“Why? You don’t like this b
