A week later, Elisa took Audre to her new school so she could help her settle in.
"You are a big girl now, so behave yourself. Make lots of friends," Elisa said and kissed her on the forehead.
"I will," she said.
Elisa knew she had nothing to worry about. Audre was a social butterfly.
She was surprised when she saw Ansel at home waiting for her. She didn't say anything for a while and just stared at him.
He took his suit jacket off and had his shirt sleeves rolled up while he worked on his laptop. He was laser-focused, so he didn't hear her come in at first.
She looked at his arms moving as he typed and started to get flustered. Something about those veins in those muscular arms on men turned her on. She snapped out of her trance when he looked up and saw her.
"What's going on? Why aren't you at the office?" she asked after gathering her thoughts.
"I brought home the stuff I need to work on because I wanted to spend mor
Oh no! Gerald better not hurt Audre!
Ansel stood behind Elisa and stroked her rear. He knew she would protest and tell him no for being a pervert, but he didn't care. She smelled like soap, and he was turned on again. "You smell pretty. Let me have you one more time," he whispered into her hair. She giggled in response and pushed him off. "Bad Ansel! I just took a shower, so stay away from me!" Elisa cried. "You're so mean. But fine. Oh, by the way. We should look into hiring a nanny for Audre," Ansel said. He switched to serious mode. Elisa frowned. "A Nanny? She doesn't need one. I've been raising her on my own just fine. I don't want someone else to take care of her. Why would you suggest something like that?" she exclaimed. She never liked the idea of rich people handing their kids off to Nannies. No matter how much money she has now, she wouldn't do that to Audre. Ansel put his hands up in surrender. "Whoa there, Mama Bear. I didn't mean anything by it. No one will be raisin
Elisa felt sick to her stomach. She felt like she'd fall over and pass out as soon as she looked at his face. Mikey... The memories came flashing back all at once. She remembered all the sick little fantasies he played out using her, and it made her want to kill herself all over again. "Sweetheart, what's wrong?" She snapped back to reality as she heard Ansel's kind voice whisper in her ear. She forgot he was there. Could he really protect her as he promised? "I...I got to go to the ladies' room. Please excuse me," she mumbled, then ran off. She looked around in panic. She needed to get the hell away from there. She found the restroom and barged in. She couldn't hold it in anymore. She went into the first stall, and dry heaved over the toilet. "Elisa, what's going on?" She heard Ansel outside, and her stomach twisted into a knot. He had followed her. How can she tell him? He said Mikey was his friend and a busin
Ansel had been watching Elisa, and he knew she wasn't going to stay calm. He needed to do something before she broke down and did something she regretted. "Of course, you may take your woman. Sorry about separating you two for so long," Michael had said. He had a smug smile on his face. Ansel wanted nothing more than to beat him to death, but he controlled his anger. He needed to remain calm and calculated for Elisa's sake. Michael walked away, leaving Ansel and Elisa alone on the dance floor. Ansel pulled her closer and swayed with the music while she kept her arms wrapped around his neck. "Are you okay?" he whispered. He held her against his chest. "No," Elisa said and rested her head on his shoulder. He felt her trembling slightly, and his chest tightened. He never felt like this about a woman before. He thought he was madly in love with Jessica, but as the time passed by after she left, he was able to erase all of his feelings toward her.
"You are a true friend, Mikey," Gerald gushed as Michael Gray handed him a bundle of hundred-dollar bills. "Yeah, yeah. I'm starting to feel like you're not worth my time and money. You promised me the girl weeks ago, and I still don't see a result," Michael scoffed. "Patience, my friend. Since when have I ever let you down?" Gerald winked. "I don't know, Gerry. This may not be a good idea. Ansel Adams is not some kind of small fry. I've been doing business with him for a while so messing with him is just...I don't know." Michael shook his head. "Don't tell me you are thinking about backing down. How long we've been friends? You're gonna blow a good trade because of some asshole?" Gerald said irritably. "As I said, he is not some asshole..." "Look, Mikey. You said it yourself. You felt like a fool when Elisa slipped out from under our nose. Don't you want revenge?" Gerald urged him. He could feel Michael's hesitation. He couldn't let h
Anya picked up Caleb from his crib and sniffed his diaper. Never in her life she imagined she'd be sniffing someone's butt like a dog, but here she was. Good thing Caleb was only a few months old and his poop didn't reach the solid state yet. She put him down immediately. The diaper was full, alright. "Connor! Get over here!" she called and thanked her lucky stars that he was home. "What is it, sweetheart? Is there something wrong?" Connor asked. "Yes. Something is terribly wrong. Your son exploded." She held Caleb up. "And it's your turn to get rid of the evidence." Connor winced. "There's no way it's my turn already. I feel I did it the last two times already." "Well, no one asked you to ejaculate inside me, so now you pay the price, dummy!" Anya declared. Connor sighed. "You are a pain in my ass. I'm going to do it one last time. Then it's all you, buddy." Anya handed Caleb to Connor and danced her way out. She had t
Elisa felt like she couldn't breathe. Her whole world came crashing down her head. She knew Audre wasn't just missing. He has her. Gerald has her little girl. "Elisa, please calm down. Everything is going to be okay. We will figure something out," Anya said and rubbed her back in an attempt to calm her down. "Everything is not okay. He took my little girl. He will hurt her!" Elisa sobbed incessantly. "I'm calling the police to go to the school and question the teacher. I'll call Ansel to meet us there," Connor said. "I wish I could go too, but I have to be here with my baby," Anya sighed. "I understand. I just want her home again," Elisa wiped her tears and hugged Anya. She knew Gerald could do the most heinous things, but she didn't imagine he would kidnap his own daughter. He must be doing this to punish her, Elisa thought. That means he would call her soon. Elisa knew Gerald wouldn't be satisfied with only taking Audre. He w
"We received a tip from a gas station clerk about a man who matched Gerald's description," Police detective Andrew Sweeney said. He is the detective in charge of Audre's case. He had called Ansel the following day with an update. Ansel headed to the police station right away alongside Connor, who insisted on coming with him. Ansel straightened his back against the chair, his eyes fully alert. "What did he say?" "Well, shesaid that the guy who matched Gerald's description was getting gas, and he was driving a white SUV. He appeared to be in a rush when paying in cash at the register. We looked at the CCTV and confirmed it was him. The clerk said he headed east," Det. Sweeney said. "What happens now?" Connor asked. "We blocked the roadway further down east and they will stop and check any vehicles that are white SUVs or anyone that looked suspicious. Although, let me tell you this. If Gerald was smart, he would change his car
Ansel stared at the laptop screen. Connor had successfully access the dark web, so Ansel was able to look at some of the underground sites. He felt sick to his stomach when he found a site that had women and children for sale. "Sick bastards," he murmured under his breath, but Connor heard him. "Agreed," he said. "These poor children don't stand a chance with these depraved assholes preying on them." "Can't we report this to the FBI?" Ansel asked. "Unfortunately, these sites are almost impossible to track. You won't know where they are unless they want to tell you," Connor said. "I see," Ansel went quiet and continued to search the site. His heart leaped to his throat as he found what he was looking for. "Sick bastard. I'm going to kill him when I see him, I swear to god," he roared. Connor quickly leaned down to see what Ansel was looking at. He scowled. "I don't believe this shit," he cursed out as he saw the picture of Audre
