She picked up her plate and led Lila to her room. She invited her in and offered her some food.

“No thanks, I already ate.” Lila said politely.

“Alright then.” Natalia said, sitting on her bed and eating her breakfast.

She listened to Lila as she told her more about her situation. Apparently, she had never been able to fully shift into her wolf form since she got it when she turned thirteen. She could only manage partial shifts, like changing her eyes or claws or teeth.

She also had trouble controlling her emotions and impulses when she was around other wolves, especially during the full moon or when they were in heat.

She felt like an outsider among her peers, who all seemed to have mastered their wolf side with ease.

Natalia felt sorry for Lila. She knew how hard it was to be different in a pack that valued conformity and strength above all else.

She decided to take Lila to the woods and see for herself what was going on. She finished her food and cleaned up, then grabbed her jacket
