Reality that hit too hard!

Ava's mind was conscious even if her eyes seemed to be tightly closed, and she could sense the scent of some kind of weird incense hanging in the air, assaulting her senses. Her eyes suddenly flickered awake like some sort of emergency as a tensed gasp escaped her lips, and a world of confusion and disorientation greeted her the moment she opened her eyes.

She found herself in a dimly lit, unfamiliar place, with a weak light barely penetrating the room, as a dull throbbing pain pulsed through her head which made her close her eyes instantly to tend to the pain. Her hand wanted to raise to touch her temples for comfort, and intense panic welled up within her immediately as her memory tried to make sense of her situation.

'What was happening? Why was her hand tied? Where was she?' her heart trembled in sudden fear, when she realized that there was no way that she could move her body.
