Chapter 17

          Jason played with his son, blowing on his belly as he laughed heartily. He lifted him in the air with his strong hands and then brought him back down blowing hard on his stomach. Alyssa sat against the wall on the bed watching something on TV while her boys played. Her sister texted her and several others as she scrolled through her social media, not posting anything. Some people didn’t have a popular opinion about her faking her death and coming back. Several people were talking bad about her husband so she shied away from that.

“Hey, baby? What’s got you down?” Jason touched her leg, holding his son on his chest.

She didn’t realize she had a sad face. “Nothing. Everything is fine.” She grabbed his hand to assure him. “You are so perfect. I love to watch you with our son. It’s a beautiful sight.”
