005: The Search For The Omega

With an unforeseen bull, the door of the apartment burst open without admonitory and two pairs of ballistic heels ambled in, forecasting the ones inside.

“Mara!” The owner of those heels vociferated as she continued to storm into the house as if she inhabited it and a woman came scrambling down the stairs, a little boy at the age of five shadowing her steps but she instantly halted as she saw the unanticipated visitant in her domicile, instantly the middle-aged omega exhorted her son to return to his bedroom while she loomed her fellow Omega.

“Zelena, what are you doing in my residence, how did you come to know where I live?” She pointed her index finger accusingly at the foaming omega.

With a puff, Zelena threw her handbag on the floor and took an ominous step towards Mara who stood her grounds unflinching, not irked by her presence. Both their blue orbs grimaced at each other. “I divulged you”

Mara titter as if she just heard the nuttiest hoax of the century. “And that’s the worst mistake you have ever made Zelena” she stopped and she placed her hands on her vast hips.

With an indignant huff, Zelena grabbed Mara by the collar of her shirt and thumbed her on the floor, and got on top of her, hurling slaps on her face while the person beneath tried to obstruct the hits. “I trusted you!”Zelena exclaimed as she threw more drastic slaps but in one movement, she was now beneath, and soon, both omega’s were rolling on the floor, pulling each other’s hair.

“Hey!” A voice chipped in but the omegas didn’t quite catch it as they continued tugging each other’s hair and lobbing insults on each other before two arms heaved Zelena away from the other omega, but strived to plunge back at Mara.

“I trusted you, Mara. How could you do this to me!” She shrieked.

Mara scrubbed the blood on her lips with her finger but cringed when she brushed the cut. Her gaze went back to the toiling woman in her lodging. “After 20 years, you came back scouring for the daughter you gave away, you are despicable Zelena” she spat.

“I didn’t give her away and you know it. You were supposed to run away with her, not give her away. Do you realize what you have done, she’s the last of the Marshall!!” The woman continued to screech, malicious tears in her eyes. “She could fall into the hands of any Alpha because of you!!”

“You are lucky I didn’t sell her to an Alpha instead!” The Omega spat, taking deep breaths to calm her rigorous breathing. “I never knew you survive that night Zelena, I thought the Marshall was no more but I guess we all are wrong because here you are, the mother of the so-called key, Madam Marshall”

Unhurriedly, salty tears made their way down her cheeks to her mouth as the other Omega made jest of her, derided her because she trusted her. The Omega wiped her tears instantly and shook the hands that held her before taking a step towards Mara. “Mark this day, Mara. You will regret this and I’ll make sure you do as soon as I find my daughter without your help!” with a huff, the woman grabbed her bag and matched out from the apartment, the same way she came in and the other woman let out a heavy breath she had been holding.

“Good luck with that” she murmured.

Mara angrily flipped her short brown hair, placing her hands on her hips while her tongue rolled inside of her mouth. “Bloody omega!” She cursed before her gaze went over to her neighbor that helped earlier, staring at her weirdly. She shortly broke into a warm smile. “Thank you so much Paul and am sorry for the trouble”

The young male ruffled his hand dismissively and strode out of the apartment, shutting the door behind him. Almost instantly, the woman rushed up the stairs to her son’s room, nudging in through the doors without knocking. The little boy jerked.

“Mother?”

“No time to explain!” She announced hastily as she whisked to his tiny wardrobe and began packing his clothes and jamming them into a little bag pack.

“Are we traveling again, mother?” The little one inquired cluelessly, watching as his mother packed his clothes into his bag and zipped it.

Rapidly, the woman turned and squatted to the same level as her son, placing her hands over his shoulder. “Am sorry” she blinked, trying to get rid of the unshed tears in her eyes but they ended up streaming down her face. “Am sorry we have to move again, I can’t let them find you” she wiped her tears with the sleeves of her shirt. Her blue orbs met the green ones of her five-year-old son. “Mother did something bad and now, she’s paying for it, which is why we have to keep moving till the bad men stop coming after us” she continued and the little boy nodded and she smiled sadly before throwing his bag over his shoulders and rushed him out from the room, down the stairs and out from the apartment for the seventh time.

Reaching the train station, she broad her son and helped him put on his seat belt. She crouched down, tenderly stroking his hair. “Mother needs to get something, I’ll be back for a moment, don’t move from your seat” she instructed and the boy nodded eagerly, she kissed him deeply on his forehead before walking out from the train, and just in time, the doors of the train automatically shut and it was time to take off.

She brought her hand over her mouth, trying so hard to mute the cries as the train slowly moved, her son went further and further away, his big green eyes staring back at her but not wailing or screaming as she had expected, it was like he knew he had been lied to, deceived and the thought alone brought her to her knees as she shrieked painfully screeching with her shoulder shaking violently, tears streaming down her face like a waterfall. It was for the best, her son didn’t deserve the type of fate she had, he had his whole life ahead of him and it was better to get him away from this messed up world.

Regaining her strength, the Omega woman stood up on her feet and went to the nearest phone booth and dialed a number, it rang a few times and a lady’s voice came from the other side.

“Nani…” Mara let out a shaky breath, her voice coming out hoarsen. “Take care of him, always tell him I love him and mother did whatever she did to protect him” and she hung up before the other person could reply and walked out from the phone boot just like the lone wolf that she was.

The night was frosty as she walked down the deserted streets with only but a few cars driving past her. She hugged her body with her hands as the chilling breeze slapped against her harshly, even with the sleeves of her shirt, it felt stiff.

Suddenly, she stopped, she slowly reeled her head back and almost instantly, she turned her head back and her body tensed up as she realized four black figures were following after her. Her lips parted and icy breath left her mouth and her body shivered but not from cold but fear as it crawled through her veins. Suddenly, her sensitive ears caught the sound of their pace increasing and without standing there to think further, Mara shifted into her white Omega form and sprinted through the empty street and tailing her, they also got into their wolves form.

The Omega sprinted on her paws, dodging cars as she crossed street after street. She turned her head to find them already catching up and abruptly, the Omega’s body banged against a wall as a wolf crashed into her.

The Omega whimpered as sharp pains traveled through her body. She shook her head as she slowly stood back on her feet but her sharp blue orbs widened as she realized she was now trapped between a concrete wall and four black wolves. She growled at them, showing her canines, her gaze piercing furiously.

And suddenly, an order had her whining in anguish.

“Shift!”

One of the reasons why she loathed being an omega as she whimpered and her wolf deferred at the Alpha’s command and instantly, she turned back into her weak human form, becoming prey under their gaze as their brilliant eyes shined down on her.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

The sound of clapping had her lifting her head sharply, fast breaths leaving her mouth as she remained on her four, and amid the four black wolves, a young man emerged, standing tall and proud in front of her, his dark eyes staring at her mockingly.

“It’s nice to finally meet the Omega”

With panting breaths, the Omega let out. “Fancy seeing you again, Zinan”

The Alpha smirked.
