She couldn’t be sure, but something seemed off with Duke where he sat on the side of his fighting ring. She had asked Daisy, but she was just as confused. He seemed both irritated and bored, but then, that could be her perception and she was quite possibly wrong.
Grant was sitting beside her, snickering for some reason he refused to tell her. She’d been eating more of his trail mix than he had and she apologized when she realized how much she’d really eaten.
Grant shrugged. “I’m not actually in the mood to finish it anymore. Do you want it?” He offered with a grin before shoving it into her hands without waiting for her reply.
“Thanks…I guess.” She answered, glancing at him with confusion while he continued grinning like a loon. What was up with him today? He never usually left food over; between him and Dale, she was sure something was going

Dale He’d noticed when Gemma took a walk with Elder Stuart, knowing that the man was probably talking with her. He was the closest thing he had to a real father considering his biological father’s distaste for him, so he trusted him with much more than he would most other wolves. Their fights had continued until he and Malcolm found themselves facing each other in the final match. He considered conceding, but he could see the challenge in Malcolm’s wolfish face. Gemma After her talk with Elder Stuart, she was thoughtful. He had answered so many of her questions without even realizing it. But her thoughts were still on Dale. Did he really feel those intense emotions for her? Would she be able to handle him being so intense around her? It was a little unnerving. She sometimes felt like prey when he focused on her so intensely; she could almost feel him summing up her weaknesses in his mind and it scared her a little. Was she ready to trust him completely, even with all her weaknesses? He had been even more attentive after their last challenge for the day and she couldn’t help becoming even shyer around him.
