The chauffeur looked despondent. "Enough to ensure I won't get killed."

Darius raised an eyebrow. "Do you see that guy over there? The one who's daydreaming. I want you to get out of the car and find the right time to drag him in here. Then, I want you two to get out of here. Don't bother about me and how I'm doing."

The chauffeur gulped. He said in a small voice, "I report to Ms. Erin, Mr. Reid. She's the one who pays me."

Darius gave him a surprised look. "Are you trying to say that you won't follow my instructions?"

The chauffeur shook his head vigorously. "Of course not!" He smiled sheepishly. "It's just that your orders and Ms. Erin's are contradictory—"

Before he could continue, someone swung a baseball bat at the window. It made the chauffeur jump and turn pale.

Darius glanced outside calmly, then turned back to the chauffeur. "How is it contradictory?"
