“I never concealed myself, William. You may have simply been late in seeing it. And I may say that you already knew everything," Brian halted, glancing at William with careless eyes.

"But I can't find an answer to this question: why are you pretending to be my friend all this time? What is your intention?" With both hands in his pockets, Brian uttered the words. Even while he knew that tonight the world would learn the truth about him and would undoubtedly feel sorry for William, they would quickly forget it because William was going to become an exclusive beggar and people were as self-centered as demons. They would not idle away their time discussing someone who had lost the affluence and prestige for which they had long respected him.

Now that so much had happened and there was nothing left, Brian also did not feel that it was necessary for him to talk sweetly to William because sooner or later he would have to push William down. This time, Brian would not kill him; instead,
