Tom's POV

'She definitely enjoyed it," I said to Denis, whom I had invited to have a drink with me. "By the way, what about Elise?"

"She had some matters to attend to," he said, and I nodded, curious about what those matters might entail.

"I apologize, but I need to use the restroom," I said and left Denis sitting there, gazing out at the bustling streets of Paris.

I didn't spend much time in the restroom, and as I was heading back to meet Denis, I ran into a group of ladies who giggled and came closer to me.

"Elaine. And you're…" the blonde-haired one greeted, extending her right hand to me.

I shook it with a smile, and the other girls graciously extended their hands to me as well.

"You're not French, are you?" Elaine asked.

Shaking my head, I replied, "No, I'm not."

"So, are you here on a trip, or do you want to live in France?" She asked.

"I'm here for some other reason," I replied, a small smile on my face.
