Chapter 8

Ava's POV

The morning sunlight gently filtered into my room through the curtains as I lay in bed with my phone in my hand. I was reading a text from Melody which said, 'Hey girl we got to meet up, it's been a while.'

I smiled as I read the text. Indeed it's been a while and I needed someone to talk to considering everything that has been going on in my life lately.

I texted her back saying, 'I miss you girl, let's meet up for breakfast at the cafe.'

After I hit the send button, I stretched and slowly got my tired self out of bed.

I slept pretty late last night because I was up thinking about Mr Tom and his deal. I know I had accepted to do his bidding but whenever I thought about it, I got the chills. I was scared, scared that I was making the wrong decision.

"Well, I'm just doing this to save my company," I reminded myself and shook the thoughts off my mind.
