Chapter 17

Katie's POV

The day of the showdown arrived. We had gathered all the evidence we could find, and we were ready to present it to the authorities. Alex, Sophia, and I stood outside the courthouse, waiting for our lawyer to arrive.

As we waited, I noticed a group of men standing across the street, watching us intently. My heart began to race as I realized that they were our enemies. They had somehow found out about our plan and had come to stop us.

I turned to Alex and Sophia, who had also noticed the men. "We have to get out of here," I said, my voice shaking.

But it was too late. The men had started to advance towards us, and we were outnumbered. I felt a hand on my arm, and before I could react, I was being dragged away.

I turned to see one of our enemies, a tall, muscular man with a menacing expression on his face. I struggled to break free, but his grip was too strong.

"Let go of me!" I screamed, but he only tightened his hold.
