Chapter 32

"You're still here.." Gael said to Kim.

"Do you want her to go Gael? Do you want the Mother of your unborn child out of this house?" Mrs Edgar said to Gael, walking into the dining room majestically.

"Mother, that wasn't what I meant." Gael said, trying to maintain his composure as he took his seat.

"It's never what you meant," Mrs Edgar responded with a hint of sarcasm, her eyes fixed on Kim.

There was a palpable silence in the room, the tension between Gael and his mother was almost tangible.

The silence spoke a thousand words until Mrs Edgar broke it.

"Linda," she called out.

Linda came out of the kitchen almost immediately, her eyes darting between Gael and Mrs Edgar, sensing the underlying tension in the room.

"Yes ma'am, you called for me." She said, trying to maintain a neutral tone.

"Yes I did, pack these other plates from the table, we're complete already on the table." Mrs Edgar said, her tone dismissive.

Linda was about to obediently pack the plates when Gael stopped her.
