The blast whirl of sand blows down the empty land of south Neitheria. The place is arid, dusty, and dry. The voice of the harsh winds echo through the unseen horizon beyond the starry night with only the smiling moon as its light. Behind these spectacular view, seven shadows of people in red cloaks are sighted standing in the middle of the borders…
“What a sight! They really are going all out tonight, huh?”
“Hey, are you hiding with your tail in front, Matt?”
“NO! You should be—“
“Everyone…”
“ARE YOU READY TO RUN WILD?”
The six look at the person in their middle with adornment. It was Conri in his werewolf form, whitest and mischievous looking at the battalion of Lighten armies. “Now…”, he raises both of his hands heightening the excitement everyone is feeling. “Let’s run free!”---
Everyone scatters shouting from the ends of their breath. Each of Conri’s squad take on one army on their own and face them with bewilderment. On the left side of the battle, Calamity and chaos are indeed taking control of the field. Matteo, he is a wielder of an earth element. He defeats the foes with ease using his earth bending technique, breaking the land in two and molding the sands in boulders and extravagantly throwing them to the scaredy-cat Lightens running from the big boulders falling like meteors to them. There is also, Ceire who controls the wind and Athena who wields the elements of fire, turning every part of the battlefield as molten lava flowing to the enemies’ bodies.
“Woah, they are evil! Right, Royu?”
“Shut it, Esca!”
Royu controls the thunderous lightning and Esca wields the element of water that can freeze her opponents in ice. They run havoc in the right side of the battle field conquering the enemies with no single life remains. While, in the middle of the battlefield, Conri rages in insanity, running wild breaking every bone of his foe…
“You’re as mad as ever, Con.”
“Rai…”Conri smirks at the maiden behind him. It was Risse, a beast tamer. She can tame anyone just by letting them look at her tantalizing purple eyes.
“Rai, behind you!”—Conri rush to grab her in his arms and bite the foe to its bone with his sharp fangs until his fangs detach the Lighten’s shoulders from its body. “Careful…”
“Oh!” Risse frost for at the moment while keeping her heartbeats beat loudly, ”I’m sorry.”
“HELL, THE ENEMY IS ESCAPING!”
The five chase the escaping Lighten and manage to block him from his way. They laugh at him devilishly. “Yah, Con almost let a witness escape.” They look at the poor Lighten shrieking in fear and stamp on his chest. “Yo, did you really think you can escape if you sacrifice a part of your body?”
“You, a-all…a…all of y-you! I must tell th-this t-to t-the r-ruler…” The Lighten coughs in blood trying to resist from the five beings.
“This is hilarious! He really thinks he can still live after this.” Matteo grab the Lighten’s head and let him see the battlefield. “See?”
The southern borders is covered with blood and corpses of the defeated battalion. The sand is all red, dark, and stinky. The battle has almost ended and the sight has brought pleasure to the victorious squad. “See?’’
“c-Cr-cro-crossbr-…crossbreeds…I-“ Matteo strikes him to death with his sharp stone mold. “That ends it here.”, Matteo satisfyingly said while looking at the dead Lighten.
“No, there’s still another one. Esca, capture him.” Conri ordered. “He is entering the borders on your right. Kill him.” Esca molds an ice archer and deliver the bow to the remaining Lighten running from the reaper of death. “Amazing! Your smell is really amazing, Con!”
“Well, he is just the son of the strongest werewolf. And, his mother is a crossbreed.” Risse exclaims with pride.
“Even if he’s a half-crossbreed, his ability is still above us. Ugh! I can’t stop from admiring you, King!” Esca jumps to Conri’s arms and hugs him.
“Well done, Esca!” Conri pats her head gently while looking at the battlefield. He saw the captured Lighten in his peripheral view, struggling from the attached ice bow in his left knee. He runs towards it and, “Hey…”
The captured lighten is shocked and cannot even move a single step from where he is. “Don’t bother thinking about getting out from here alive.” Conri growls…
“Cr-crossbreeds…You a-are in-indeed a c-catastrophe…Y-you must vanish or else…I must inform them-“
“Do you know what? Why crossbreeds remain legends?”
“Yo-“
“It’s because…no one has ever lived after seeing them.”
“Ug----kkk!” Conri pulls the ice bow from the Lighten’s knee and watches him slowly losing his breath.
"Con, is it not done yet?" Royu flashes in front him like a flowing soundless lightning.
"Yeah, let's go. Where is everyone?" Conri asks.
"Matt is already cleaning the mess. What should we do after this?"
"Collect all the weapons..."
"What? We don't need them though." Athena appears out of nowhere and joins the conversation.
"We will give them to the bandits in the north. It will help them protect themselves.." Conri explains.
They go to the stinky leftovers of the battle and starts to collect the weapons that the Lighten enemies have left. Risse, on the other hand...
"I heard you're getting married?"
"Yeah, I am."
"What's the tea? It's very unusual for you to decide on something in a rush manner." she stands beside Conri who is taking a break from his battle, tending the fresh wounds he got.
"S-she's a crossbreed... but a different one."
"What do you mean?" Risse asks while helping him cleans his wounds. Risse is also a Galen, a healer.
"Her scent is different from you a-all...You know I can distinguish a race just based on their scents, and hers is very unique. I..I--"
"Did you think she can help you with your revenge?"
"Yeah.. she just needs cultivation. I'm planning to help her control her powers if we got married."
"You're cruel, taking advantage of a maiden's heart just to get what you desire..."
"Rai..."
"Okey, okey! Just what the hell did you see in her? We can help you too, and we have been doing that since--"
"Since mother died? I know, I know. You six are the young crossbreeds she have saved from the Lightens."
"Your mother is so brave...and...strong! She's a great crossbreed."
"If only she didn't help that girl..." Conri is burning from rage. His white fur is getting longer from anger that is trying to get out from his entity.
"Con..." Risse looks at him with sympathy. She felt sorry for the wolf king's past.
"Uwaaakkk! uwaakkk! uwakkk!" A messenger flies in circles in the dawning skies of the south borders. The squad notice it and look at where it's going to land.
"A messenger..." Conri confusingly raise his right arm to let the messenger crow lands on him. It has a piece of loincloth in it's left claw. Conri grabs it and open it.
"What does it say?" Esca asks.
Thunderstruck, Conri remains calm and manages to send their last command. "Go to the north and deliver the weapons to the bandits. Careful on your way." Conri transforms in his whole wolf form and howls loudly that echoes to the ends of the horizon. The sun is almost rising...
"H-hey...wher--"
"A ruler has visit the realm! I must return to the castle!" Conri immediately runs to the vast land of nothing but sands and heads to east where the sun's rising. A beautiful white wolf's shadow is casting the rays of the first gaping of the daylight.
"Aria, I hope you're safe."
“Who would visit me, anyway?”, Aria asks the two servants curiously while walking back to the castle. The three are holding baskets of roses- blue, pink, white, purple, and red. Behind them are the hell soldiers that are ordered to give an eye to the soon to be queen of Neitheria.“It must be one of the Darken races who wants to give you their blessings!”, Annie told her confidently. Aria frown her forehead taking second thoughts on what Annie said. She is somewhat afraid of the possibility of the chasers who have been after her life since she escape the black hole, the place with no ends in her mind.“Probably... let’s just put it that way, I guess?” Aria makes herself believe the safest option. It can’t be possible that those chasers can track her this easily. She looks at the two young mortals beside her playing with each other.“I thought we can enter the West woods this time...” L
Aria has been longing for love and belongingness ever since she was a child. She wanders and wanders, hoping that someone will accept her despite her appearance and curse. When King Conri said that he wanted to marry her and become his wife, a part of heart flatters in the calmest way. It feels like an old thorn was pulled out of her numb emotions. For the first time, for sixteen years, Aria feels happy.Yet..."ARIA! What did you do?""C-conri...I-I..." Weaken by her fading energy source, Aria tries to stand up and speak to Conri who's carrying the two young mortals to his arms in distressed. It is evident in his eyes the disappointment and anger towards the maiden in front of him, struggling to make her stance. But what Conri saw already tells everything. His heart and mind already close its doors to listen to her talks.Conri walks back to the castle quilted. Nevertheless, he still took a glimpse of Aria in his peripheral view. She's crying rivers, mum
"Aw! What was that?" Conri murmurs in pain. He stands up from lying head's down on the floor and sees Aria's wide open mouth staring at him in a blow. Then a moment of silence has envelope the room. Conri is the first to let go of his eyes and walks towards his closet. They seems to have develop some distance after what happened in the West woods. On the other hand, dismay is visible in Aria's eyes and is totally bothered by Conri's cold treatment just a second ago. She gets out of bed, confused, wanting to ask about waking up in Conri's bed rather than the icing grasses of the forest, as well as asks for forgiveness about what she had done. She comes near to Conri's wardrobe looking away at the undressed hunky man inside. "C-" She was cut off..."Get dressed. We have an important visitor today!" Conri walks out of the wardrobe without giving an eye to the silent Aria beside the door. He walks straight to the twin doors with no words and not anything. Nonetheles
It is time for Aria to ready herself for the upcoming wedding. It's been weeks after the incident in the west woods and Conri is still on the dark cold mode. Lucia and Annie are no longer serving her but she is trying to get in touch with them. She always asks the other servants where the two young maidens are transferred yet no one would even answer her.Today is her fitting day. The fairies of the eastern borders have come to the castle to take her measurements. The fairy of Rose is the one making her veil. The fairy of Marygold will be for her upper garments and the fairy dust for the lower garments. The dwarves are also there. Their work is to make the perfect shoes for the new queen of Neitheria."It seems to be so busy today, right Rosie?""I can't wait to see her wear the dress made by our race.""21...30...16...24-""Bring it here! Yeah! That! That one!"The whole castle is in absolute mess. A lot of darkens has al
In the small space of an arid cave-like structure in the basement of the king’s castle, the young maidens are seen covered in bandages. The air is filled with herbs and fresh fragrance of the flower garden. As the blow of the wind enters the window, the other one lying in bed starts to get consciousness and slowly opens her eyes. “Oh, you’re awake. Here, drink your medicine An.” Lucia who has bandage in her arms helps the poor Annie that is covered with bruises and bandage to get up from her bed. She guides her until she manages to finish drinking her herbs. “The wind is so fresh. I hope the queen is good right now.” Annie sadly exclaims as she put the glass to her side table. “I heard the preparations for the wedding is starting. Let’s do our best to get better so that we can see her in her charming wedding dress.” Lucia chuckles and help Annie get back to bed. The two are in the castles heal room to receive treatment. They are severely wounded after
Lucia shouted at the top of her lungs. She can't believe that she lost her own little sister in her presence. The cold night has swallowed her voice and only her sobs are left to hear. She can only sulks herself to the freezing ground, just one step on the exit of the woods."Why? Why? Whyyyy?" She yells and yells, asking the world the reason. She knows the culprit and she knows she can't do anything to them because they're more powerful than anyone else."What happened?""Lord Fab-bien?""Lucia, what are you doing here? Where's Annie? I heard a voice from the castle's gate." Fabien helps Lucia stand on her feet carefully. He notices the uneasiness of the young maiden and the odd feeling he has been sensing since he arrived at the area. "Tell me, is there something wrong going on?""L-lord Fabien...help me!" Lucia's voice cracks into tears. She feels like her world has suddenly falls apart after witnessing that tragedy. Her knees are shaking to the
It is the third day of the preparations and Aria is currently in her small round table beside the balcony's rails, folding the last letter of invitation for the grand wedding. She pulled a red rose mark on the envelope's edge and picks up all the handmade letters she made with flower petals as decorations. She adds blue ribbons in each and puts them in a basket. She let her tired eyes explore the green forest in front of the balcony and let go of a big sigh. Her graze to the soft and glossy thin papers brought shivers of excitement and at the same time, anguish. While procrastinating, a soulful image of her late mother suddenly flashes in her mind when she remembers the dress she have seen in the tailor store. "Uh-ahh, I guess I'll go back there to clear my uneasy thoughts!" She stands up and grabs the basket of letters back to the room. She glides to her closet to choose a dress to wear. She slip a glimpse of the beautiful dresses and decides to pick the vir
"Uhh, I guess I was late, huh!" he settles in the branch he was standing and folds his arms crossed close to his body. He intently stares at the beautiful maiden happily glaring at the moon with her dress hugged into her arms. "Well, at least you're happy..." He satisfies himself and full his eyes with the enchanting scenery. He turns his eyes to the crumbled box and sigh, "She's so pure and beautiful. But she can't be mine..." he mutters in a sad tone. He looks again at the balcony where Aria is but she's no longer there. He shrugs his shoulders and just glimpse with the smiling moon being concealed vividly by the dancing leaves of the small twigs from above. Marqus is always watching Aria from a far; to the balcony, to the flower garden, to the outside, and even follows her whenever she wanders to the woods. Apparently, it was a love at first touch. When Aria took care of his clot when Conri accidentally slap him with a plate. For him, it is the first
