“What?” asked Austin, tilting his head at Juniper.

“It’s beautiful!” smiled Juniper.

“Wait! This is a misunderstanding-”

“Oh,” Juniper slipped her arms around Austin’s waist, “then what is it? You trying to be sneaky again? It’s alright you can tell me. Out in the open this time. You don’t have to hide it. Not like that last time.”

“What? What time?” asked Austin, trying to clarify with her.

“You know the time when you proposed to me about our mating in one year?”

“It’s alright. I’m sure she knows by now. I mean I did say it loud enough that one time for her to hear.”

“Ah-huh. Of course I did. She has to know at some point. I mean it doesn’t make sense to hide it from her. Unless,” said Juniper, stroking his chin, “you want us to do it in secret and have her bleed to death while we mate.”
