When Jack had said he didn't know what we were going to face during the trials, I couldn't help to be more scared of what we were about to confront. Having to face the unknown wasn't a risk I wanted to take.

I was scared especially for Megan, I wouldn't be able to bear it, if anything happens to her during the course of the trials.

I knew that with great responsibility comes greater burdens but it shouldn't have to be at the risk of harm coming her way. I had lost her once before, I do not want to lose her again.

"Your inability to prove yourself worthy might lead to your death, which might be a little sad because I have heard so much about the both of you and I wish you luck because the life of your people is on your shoulders".

These were the exact words I heard Lumina, the guardian of the moon said, and it almost threw me off the edge.

I was about backing out, but one glance at Megan, I could feel the aura of determination and resolution coming off her.
