SCARED THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD

AURORA

I was probably going to be in the office for some time so I had to do something worthwhile. My eyes scanned the room, high and low, for any opening that would help me out of here. I looked up and for the first time, saw that the ceiling was so far away from the ground. I needed four more me-s to get up there. I could jump high but… not that high and there was no way out even if I did reach the ceiling.

The floor was cozily carpeted as well and the only thing that looked like it’d help my predicament was the tall wall opposite me which was completely made of see-through glass.

I steadily walked towards it, dragging one of the chairs along.

‘That’s a bad idea, Arie.’

‘Everything is a bad idea if I’m the one who suggested it.’

‘Do you know how much trouble you’ll get in for this?’

I groaned, stopping at a good distance from the glass wall. ‘He’s already done the worst to me.’

‘You don’t understand! Every freaking wolf in the packhouse will hear and they’ll come straight after you!
