Chapter 37: Merethyl

I’m not thrilled at the idea of my mate spending all of his spare time over the next five years with his ex. I cannot imagine that, if the roles were reversed, he’d be okay with it. But maybe I’m wrong.

And either way, my choices are to walk away from Avani, which he says he’d never let happen, or deal with it. I guess I’ll have to see what this air dragon is really like.

I follow Avani back into the forest so we’re under cover and not easily spotted by drones or any other type of arial spyware the chief and the other scientists might have while we talk.
