Summer's POV
Summer stared up at the large white building Michael had just pulled up to with the glowing red word 'Emergency' illuminated on it.
It was early Thursday morning and her father had insisted that he be picked up upon discharge by his daughter and future Son-in-law. Of course, there was no way that they could deny this request.
"You ready" Michael asked cutting the engine of his vehicle and beginning to unbunkle.
Summer gave a slight nod, "Yeah, I'm ready."
Watching Michael exit Summer took a deep breath to try to calm her rattled nerves.
Her relationship with her biological father could be considered anything but great. He treated her like a tool rather than a beloved daughter.
After all, that was the only reason he even decided to acknowledge her and bring her to his side in the first place.
If he hadn't found her useful who knew where she would be right now.
Asher's POV Friday evening and the day of Michael and Summer's celebration banquet came in a flash, and Asher found himself once again staring at the entrance of Bon Temps. Despite his best efforts to convince himself that he wouldn't have any part of Sarah's plan to sabotage Michael and Summer's banquet, he found himself here now waiting for the woman to arrive so that he could be her plus one for the nights big event. Up ahead a line had already formed at the entrance of the building as two men busied themselves checking invitations, followed by doing body checks before allowing guests entrance. Asher found it odd given the fact this was simply a celebration for family and friends. Why would they even need to check those who were invited for weapons? "Asher!" A voice called from behind as he stood pondering this. Turning Asher watched as Sarah clad in a too tight gold dress with a dipping v-neck, that accentua
Summer's POVSummer positioned herself beside Michael at the top of the grand staircase of Bon Temps watching as the room below grew dark. She ran a hand down the sides of her silver sequined gown making sure it wasn't out of place in any way. After all she had to look picture perfect. For hours prior Summer had been the victim of an onslaught of stylists and makeup artists that had been hired to make her look like a rising star for the evenings main event. If she so much as ruined a strand of her hair there would be hell to pay. After dealing with them for so long her nerves were already fried and now having to walk down a staircase with a bunch of people watching was the last thing she wanted to do.Putting a hand to her chest Summer attempted to calm her heart, willing it to slow its erratic pace.As she fixed her gaze ahead preparing to make her entrance with her 'fiance' a spotlight flashed on, momentarily blindi
Asher's POVAsher's heart ceased to beat as he watched Summer slump forward into his arms as the drug Sarah had given her took effect. The fear he saw in her eyes right before they closed left him shaken to his very core. It was something he had never seen from her before, not even when her stepfather was at his worst."Summer." He tried now lightly touching her cheek, anxiety bubbling within him, "Summer, wake up."The image of her lying on that stretcher completely lifeless six years ago flashed across his mind, threatening to send him over the edge. With more urgency he began tapping Summer's cheek, trying his best to get her to wake up.His eyes that stayed focused on her face began to fill with tears as she lay unresponsive.Sarah had said it wouldn't harm Summer, so why was she unconscious now? The thought plagued him, as he frantically did his best to rouse her. Each passing second that she didn't
Asher remained in his hiding spot trying to hold a determined Summer still as the drama of the evening began to make its appearance.Despite her best struggles he kept her arms pinned to her sides, not allowing her to try to remove her clothes again. He looked on at the scene unfolding with wide eyes as more vehicles filled with news crews came rushing in, their tires squealing in their haste. Reporters hurriedly unloaded their equipment from them before heading one after the other to the entrance of Bon Temps.Asher could only imagine the scene that was most certainly about to take place within the buildings four walls. From the looks of the number of people arriving it was going to be a huge spectacle.Security tried their best to keep the reporters at bay, but in the end they lost due to being outnumbered and the wave of people ready for a big scoop managed to squeeze their way inside. He could hear a few shrieks of surprise fr
Summer's POVShe stared at the gruesome faces covered in blood, their mouths open wailing in agony. They moved towards her as she tried to back away.Behind them the devil himself smiled viciously enjoying the look of pure terror on her face.Try as she might she couldn't back any further as they closed in clawing at her while laughing.Waking with a jolt Summer attempted to catch her breath as her heart hammered in her chest. Her whole body shook from the overwhelming fear she was feeling from the same nightmare she had almost every night.Gasping for air she tried to collect herself and take in her surroundings. The first thing she noticed when she finally calmed was there seemed to be arms wrapped tightly around her. The second was that she was in a tub full of freezing water.Confusion ebbing she tried to recall what exactly led to this. She remembered being at the celebration banquet f
Summer's POV Summer's father watched her impassively as she worked to catch her breath. Her head was spinning and she felt like she was going to hurl, but she kept her face calm as she did her best to not show any weakness. "Now." Jackson said narrowing his gaze on her. "Summer, did you have anything to do with what happened this evening?" She looked to Michael who was watching her with bloodlust in his eyes, his face rigid, jaw clenching and unclenching. Summer was sure if her father hadn't arrived when he did she would already be dead. "Ask his mistress." She spat ripping her gaze from Michael and looking to a now sobbing Sarah. "It wasn't me!" Sarah who had been silent the whole time wailed. "How could you possibly place the blame on me?" As she spoke she acted pathetic, her fake sobs growing stronger. Unable to control herself Summer began clapping. "That's quite the
Asher's POVSummer had told him to leave the minute she left, but Asher just couldn't bring himself to do it. How could he after everything he had witnessed that night?Instead he remained in his car watching as she disappeared into the crowd of guests and reporters. He continued to watch as they all began swarming her when they noticed her presence. And when she disappeared inside the building with Michael he still remained in place.Something about the way Summer had acted wasn't sitting well with him. There seemed to be something serious going on, but how serious it was he wasn't sure.As he sat pondering it the crowd gathered at the entrance of Bon Temps began to disperse.News crews loaded up their vans and cars before heading out as the guests that had made their way outside turned and left instead of going back into the venue. It seemed that after the big spectacle Sarah had caused the festivi
Summer's POVHer head was reeling as Asher's threat and words sunk in. If he wasn't going to allow her to go back then she would figure out a way to get away. For the time being she just needed to bide her time. There was no way she wasn't going to go back. If her father or Michael returned and she wasn't there things would become so much worse."I owe you no explanations." She narrowed her gaze as she took in Asher's expectant face.Asher remained unphased by her words. "We've got all night." He said leaning back in his seat as he got comfortable.Summer clamped her mouth shut. There was absolutely no chance she would confide in Asher everything that had transpired. Doing so would mean getting him involved and she absolutely would not do that.If he wanted to play this game then she would oblige, at least until she could figure out a way to escape and get back to where Michae
